Welcome to the Mitchems family web page. Of course, there is more than one Mitchem family in this universe, so if you'll go to [our family ] you can quickly determine if we are the family you're interested in contacting.
Our father, Dewey A. Mitchem, was a coal miner, and he served in World War II on a B-25 bomber in the Army Air Corp. We lived in and around Bluefield, West Virginia, and southwestern Virginia, until 1962, when we moved to Hopewell, Virginia. Our parents had eight children, seven of whom are still living: Dewey Alan, Cherryl, Rickie (deceased), Reggie, Penny, Bryant, Brett, and Debbie. Members of our family live in Virginia, California, Illinois, and Georgia, and have generally spent most of our adult lives too far from the Appalachia/Blue Ridge areas to keep in touch. This web page is our effort at contacting friends and family with whom we've lost along the way.
We'll be expanding this page as time and interest allow. We've got a few old family photos, and we'd love to have other family photos to share. In the meantime, if you'd like to reach us, please send us an e-mail!
